Brian Vogan and His Good Buddies

The story

Brian Vogan is a songwriter, performer, and early childhood music educator based in Seattle.

Known for his work as a composer and music educator, Brian began writing songs for children in 2006 as a way of reflecting the interests of his students, while simultaneously showcasing music that can be enjoyed by children and parents alike! In 2008, Brian teamed with pianist and composer Jeremy Reinhold, and lead guitarist/drummer Kory Christian to record the album Little Songs with legendary producer Barrett Jones (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, etc.). Little Songs was heralded as one of the 'best children's releases of the decade' by GeekDad on Wired.com, and Seattle independent newspaper The Stranger proclaimed:

"Seattle's Brian Vogan can and should take credit for inventing a new genre of kids' music called "kindie rock." -The Stranger

In 2013, Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) generously took over full sponsorship of Brian's work at the Childhaven schools in Seattle and Auburn. These schools have served underprivileged children and families for nearly 100 years. Rolling Stone magazine featured an article on Brian's work with these amazing kids.

In addition to Jeremy and Kory, the Good Buddies feature a cast of spectacular musicians from all over the PNW. Current lineup includes bassist Michael Trew (Moon Letters), drummer Jon Gilmore Jr., keyboardist Jason Thane, and singers Kath Pratess and Angela Escudero (Makahiya). Band alumni (and future guest stars) include Danika Morrow, Lauren Trew, Ben Baier, Libby Molamphy, Kieran Pechter, Jens Gunnoe, Julie Baldridge, Diana Shomstein, and Kellianne Cadavona.

Since Brian's debut Little Songs, the Good Buddies have recorded seven full length albums of original children's music with their producer Barrett. This collection, nearly twenty years' worth of content, is now available for pre-order as a complete gift package (all eight albums) on the new digidisc (opens in a new tab) collectible album format.

Brian is currently the music educator at these fine Seattle schools: Ambrosia Montessori, Lemon Door Montessori, The French American School of Puget Sound, UW Haggard Childcare Resources, Sammamish Montessori School
